For nearly twenty years, Courtney Sale Ross has dedicated his time to improving the education system, and has made great progress toward its goals. Ross is well known in the landscape of education, how did Ross School, Ross Global Academy opened its doors in New York in 2006, and Ross also operates the Institute for Advanced Study and innovation in education, along with Institute Ross Professor of the Academy.
A different kind of school
Ross is passionate about education reform, particularly in terms of how globalization as an issue of primary education in school. Ross School was established in 1991 with her late husband, Steven Ross. Steven Ross was also the co-chairman of Time Warner, Inc., when he founded this innovative school in order to initiate students into the 21st century. The Ross School has developed around a group of international scholars specialized in mathematics, psychology, engineering, cultural history, literature, economics, anthropology and neuroscience to name a few.
The basic idea of the Ross School to educate children of preschool age through grade 12, and now 562 students enrolled. Ross School combines research with teaching education so that students learn to research answers for themselves in an attempt to deepen the educational experience. Following the success of the Ross School, has worked closely with the New York University Steinhardt School and Education and with New York City Board of Education to establish a charter school, Ross Global Academy.
Ross is committed to open communication lines between public and private sectors, so that goes beyond traditional boundaries to support their efforts and schools. Ross urges and get government grants, foundation grants and corporate and private, to ensure their schools with the resources needed to succeed.
The Ross Institute
Ross is convinced that international research is directly related to the acquisition of the education system to the next level. The Institute for Advanced Study, Ross and innovation in education promotes the interdisciplinary study of globalization and education. Ross wants to promote intercultural understanding and use of these studies to develop a model for alternative schools. specializing in education schools have access to the results of the Ross Institute and study to extrapolate the information.
